Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of out-patient substance abuse rehabilitation program that is just below intensive out-patient and more intensive than regular outpatient treatment. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help people who may need in-depth rehabilitation for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but don't require twenty-four hour supervision and care. For a person who has completed inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in Buffalo could help them transition more easily into a sober way of life as a viable "step-down" option. After partial hospitalization day treatment, the individual could then transition over to regular outpatient treatment.
When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment center, they typically participate in services anywhere from 3-5 days a week. It is similar to an inpatient treatment program in many significant ways, including the fact that individuals will have access tomental health professionals, physicians and nurses who can address the psychological, emotional, and physical issues they are trying to conquer. For at least four to six hours on the days that clients participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, they will receive one-on-one addiction therapy, psychotherapy services, participate in group counseling, get any necessary medical care and address any of the mental health symptoms that are triggering their alcohol and drug addiction.
