Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for medical healthcare services for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals who do have Medicare and need addiction recovery services in Ghent, this program will cover certain rehabilitation programs and recovery services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different kinds of medical care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient addiction treatment, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the individual's lifetime.

Individuals who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications associated with treating drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
