It too is taken daily, and costs approximately $450 /month. Naltrexone is an additional medication taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned it is an opiate blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly injection, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents a person from experience being high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 per month.
