Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation program that is just below intensive out-patient and more intensive than normal outpatient rehabilitation. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help clients who may need intensive rehabilitation for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but do not require 24 hour supervision and care. For someone who has completed inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment program in Dexter could help them transition more easily into a sober lifestyle as a "step-down" option. After partial hospitalization day treatment, the person could then phase over to regular out-patient care.
When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment program, they typically take part in services anywhere from 3-5 days per week. It is similar to an in-patient program in many significant ways, including the fact that clients will get access tomental health professionals, physicians and nurses who can address the physical, emotional and psychological challenges they are trying to overcome. For at least four to six hrs on the days that clients attend partial hospitalization day treatment, they will receive individual addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, receive any necessary medical care and deal with any of the mental health symptoms that are triggering their drug addiction.
