The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to civilian health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can pick a primary doctor and obtain referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.
By way of TRICARE, military members can obtain substance abuse treatment services in Hillsboro. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other rehabilitation services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are limited to no more than 7 days.
