The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can choose a primary doctor and obtain referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.
Through TRICARE, members of the military can obtain substance abuse rehabilitation services in Sullivan. This encompasses individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other various rehabilitation services. They will require pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some restrictions. Military insurance covers both inpatient and outpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are restricted to 7 days.
