It is also taken every day, and is priced around $450 monthly. Naltrexone is an additional drug used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned it is an opiate blocker and isn't an opiate. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents a person from experience being high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 monthly.
