The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can pick a primary care physician and obtain referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.
By way of TRICARE, military members can receive drug and alcohol treatment services in Iuka. This encompasses detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other substance abuse recovery services. They will require pre-authorization for treatment and there will most likely be some limitations.
