Naltrexone is another med used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned here it is an opiate blocker and isn't an opiate. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly injection, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents a person from feeling high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 per month.
