Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health care for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people that do have Medicare and require substance abuse rehab in Billings, this program may pay for certain recovery programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different types of medical care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the individual's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the expenses for outpatient substance abuse rehab. People who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
