Outpatient Methadone Buprenorphine or Vivitrol - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers - Inverness, MT.

One of the outpatient rehabilitation alternatives for clients in Inverness who are struggling with opioid abuse and addiction is opioid maintenance therapy. Licensed facilities and doctors are certified to administer specific medications to opioid addicted individuals, many of which are opioids themselves and are addiction. In low amounts however, the individual does not feel high but also does not have acute cravings and is not experiencing opioid withdrawal. Methadone is the first medication administered for this reason, but there are alternative options to select from.

Methadone is an opiate and can be taken at an out-patient clinic certified to administer the drug, that is taken on a daily basis as a pill or liquid. The price of the drug is approximately $150 monthly. Buprenorphine is also an opiate based med, and is in pill form often taken one day on, one day off. But different from Methadone which can only be administered in well-regulated medical centers, Buprenorphine can be prescribed and administered in doctor's offices. The cost monthly of buprenorphine is approximately three hundred dollars /month for the generic version of the med. There is also a version of buprenorphine containing the drug naloxone, that is a drug that blocks the effects of opioids. An individual taking this version of the drug, also known as Suboxone, would find it more difficult to get high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It too is taken daily, and is priced about $450 /month. Naltrexone is an additional drug used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it's an opiate blocker and is not an opioid. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly injection, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents an individual from experience being high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 monthly.
