Naltrexone is an additional medication taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications aforementioned it's an opiate blocker and isn't an opiate. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents someone from experience being high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 a month.
