The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to civilian health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can pick a primary doctor and get referrals to organizations that offer specialty care.
By way of TRICARE, military members can receive substance abuse rehabilitation services in Laurel. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various substance abuse recovery services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there are likely to be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but stays for detox are restricted to no more than 7 days.
