Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient alcohol and drug treatment program which is less than intensive outpatient and more intensive than normal out-patient rehab. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help individuals who may need intensive rehab for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but don't need 24 hour supervision and care. For a person who has finished inpatient rehab, a partial hospitalization day treatment program in Raleigh could help them transition more easily into a drug-free way of life as a "step-down" option. After partial hospitalization day treatment, the person could then transition over to regular out-patient care.
When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment program, they commonly participate in services in the range of 3-5 days per week. It is like an in-patient program in many significant ways, including the fact that individuals will have access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can address the psychological, emotional, and physical issues they are trying to overcome. For at least four to six hours on the days that people attend partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will receive individual addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, receive any needed medical care and deal with any of the mental health problems that trigger their alcohol and drug addiction.
