Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient drug and alcohol treatment program which is less than intensive outpatient and more intensive than regular outpatient treatment. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also tailored to people who may need intense treatment for a co-occurring mental health disorder, but do not need 24 hour intervention and treatment. For a client who has completed inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment program in Toast could help them transition more easily into a sober way of life as a viable "step-down" option. After partial hospitalization day treatment, the person could then transition over to regular outpatient treatment.
When a client is in a partial hospitalization day treatment program, they typically take part in services anywhere from three to five days per week. It is similar to an inpatient treatment program in many significant ways, including the fact that people will have access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can address the physical, emotional and psychological issues they are trying to overcome. For at least four to six hrs on the days that clients participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will get one-on-one addiction therapy, psychotherapy services, participate in group counseling, get any required medical care and deal with any of the mental health symptoms that trigger their drug and alcohol addiction.
