Naltrexone is an additional med taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it is an opiate blocker and isn't an opioid. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents someone from experience being high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse.
