It too is taken on a daily basis, and costs about $450 a month. Naltrexone is another drug used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it is an opioid blocker and is not an opiate. A person has the choice to take this medication as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from feeling high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 per month.
