Naltrexone is an additional drug used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it is an opiate blocker and isn't an opiate. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents a person from experience high feelings from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse.
