An individual consuming this version of the drug, also known as Suboxone, would find it more difficult to get high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It too is taken daily, and is priced about $450 a month. Naltrexone is an additional med taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it is an opioid blocker and isn't an opioid. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly injection, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from getting high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 monthly.
