Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help people who require in-depth rehab for a co-occurring mental health disorder, but don't require twenty-four hour intervention and treatment. For someone who has completed inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment program in Elmwood could be of help to them make the transition more easily into a sober lifestyle as a "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the person could then phase into regular outpatient care.
When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment facility, they commonly participate in services anywhere from 3-5 days per week. It is similar to an in-patient program in many significant ways, including the fact that individuals will have access tomental health professionals, physicians and nurses who can deal with the physical, emotional and psychological challenges they are trying to overcome. For at least four to six hrs on the days that individuals attend partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will receive one-on-one addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, receive any necessary medical care and address any of the mental health symptoms that are triggering their drug and alcohol addiction.
