Outpatient Methadone Buprenorphine or Vivitrol - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facilities - Inland, NE.

One of the outpatient rehab alternatives for people in Inland who are struggling with opioid dependence and addiction is opioid maintenance therapy. Licensed centers and doctors are certified to administer specific medications to opioid dependent individuals, many that are opioids themselves and are addictive. With low enough amounts however, the individual doesn't feel high but also doesn't experience intense cravings and isn't experiencing opioid withdrawal. Methadone is the first medication used for this reason, but there are a few more options currently to pick from.

Methadone is an opiate and is meant to be taken at an out-patient clinic certified to administer the med, which is taken daily in liquid or pill form. The price of the med is approximately one hundred and fifty dolloars a month. Buprenorphine is also an opioid based med, and is a pill often taken every other day. But unlike Methadone which is only be dispensed in structured clinics, Buprenorphine can be and is prescribed and administered in doctor's offices. The monthly cost of buprenorphine is about three hundred dollars /month for the generic version of the med. There is also a type of buprenorphine that contains naloxone, which is a med which reverses the effects of opiates. An individual taking this version of the drug, AKA Suboxone, would find it more difficult to feel high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It too is taken daily, and costs about $450 per month. Naltrexone is another drug taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications aforementioned it's an opiate blocker and is not an opioid. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents a person from experience being high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 monthly.
