It too is taken daily, and costs about $450 a month. Naltrexone is an additional med used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs aforementioned it is an opioid blocker and is not an opioid. A person has the choice to take this medication as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents an individual from experience high feelings from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 per month.
