DWI clients in treatment need to complete specific requirements to satisfy the terms of their sentencing. Rehab facilities that help fulfill these court requirements and terms, which are usually far more lenient than normal sentencing which would include steep fines and jail time, are offered in Freedom to deliver alcohol education, therapy, and additional evaluation for individuals with heavy drug or alcohol problems.
Drug and Alcohol Education is an essential treatment tool used at rehabs treating DWI clients. There are various levels of alcohol education classes which can vary by state. Level I education classes generally consist of 12 hours of group education about the effects and dangers of drugs and/or alcohol. This is the what someone with a single offense or someone under 21 will usually be required to do. Level II DWI classes would consist of both education and therapy in a program which is approved by the courts. How long a person will need to remain in therapy depends upon various considerations, which can include the number of DWI's the person has had, and the seriousness of the violation. Ordinarily, individuals will be required to take the Level II DWI classes and therapy except for when their blood-alcohol content level was extremely low when they were stopped and there weren't any other serious infractions when the individual was arrested.
