It too is taken daily, and costs approximately $450 monthly. Naltrexone is an additional medication used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned here it's an opioid blocker and isn't an opiate. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents an individual from getting high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 per month.
