Naltrexone is an additional drug taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs aforementioned it's an opiate blocker and isn't an opioid. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly injection, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from experience being high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse.
