Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health benefits for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals who do have Medicare and need substance abuse rehabilitation in Chesterfield, Medicare may pay for various rehabilitation programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of treatment.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the person's lifetime.

Individuals who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and medications used for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
