Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of out-patient drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation program that is less than intensive out-patient and more intensive than regular outpatient rehabilitation. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help clients who need intensive treatment for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but don't need 24 hour supervision and care. For a person who has finished inpatient rehab, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in Salem could be of help to them transition more easily into a sober lifestyle as a "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the client could then phase over to regular outpatient care.
When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment center, they commonly participate in services anywhere from three to five days per week. It is similar to an in-patient treatment program in many important ways, including the fact that individuals will have access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can address the psychological, emotional, and physical challenges they are trying to overcome. For at least 4-6 hours on the days that people attend partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will receive individual addiction therapy, psychotherapy services, participate in group counseling, get any necessary medical care and address any of the mental health symptoms that trigger their drug addiction.
