The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted people.
