The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to advance the mental health of the nation. One of its duties is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency.
