When a person in Bronx needs drug or alcohol rehab but doesn't have health insurance or the funds to pay for the rehab program in full, the Access to Recovery Voucher is an option to consider. ATR is a federally-funded plan which provides the means for individuals to access addiction treatment programs and support including inpatient, regular outpatient, intensive outpatient, counseling, continuing care, life coaching and recovery support, skills building, vocational training, and transportation assistance. The ATR grant program provides those individuals with vouchers to acquire rehabilitation and recovery support services for addiction disorders at the provider of their choice. To be eligible for ATR individuals must meet certain requirements, including: 1) be at least 18 years of age, 2) have a history of substance use or abuse, 3) have a yearly income that is less than 200% of the Federal poverty level, and 4) reside in the counties or jurisdictions that provide ATR.
