The military currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to civilian health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary care physician and obtain referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.
Through TRICARE, members of the military can receive substance abuse treatment services in Cassadaga. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other rehabilitation services. They will require pre-authorization for treatment and there will most likely be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are restricted to no more than 7 days.
