When someone in Fort Covington needs drug abuse treatment and doesn't have private health insurance or the money to pay for the recovery program in full, the Access to Recovery Voucher is an option to consider. ATR is a federally-funded plan which makes it possible for qualified people to access treatment facilities and support including inpatient, intensive outpatient, regular outpatient, counseling, continuing care, recovery and life coaching, vocational training, skills building, and transportation assistance. The ATR grant program provides individuals with vouchers to purchase rehabilitation and recovery support services for substance use disorders at the provider of their choice. To be eligible for ATR clients must fulfill certain criteria, including: 1) must be 18 years or older, 2) have a history of substance abuse and addiction, 3) have a yearly income that is less than 200% of the Federal poverty level, and 4) reside in the counties or jurisdictions that provide ATR.
People interested in the Access to Recovery Voucher can contact ATR Service Coordinators in their area. If someone's original choice of treatment or facility isn't working out, they can work with their coordinator to find one that best fits their needs and that accepts the ATR.
