The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals.
