Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health care for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain types of medical care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
