The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
