Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of out-patient substance abuse rehabilitation program that is less than intensive out-patient and more intensive than normal outpatient treatment. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also tailored to clients who require intense rehab for a co-occurring mental health disorder, but don't require around the clock supervision and treatment. For a person who has completed inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in Lewis could help them transition more easily into a drug-free way of life as a viable "step-down" option. After partial hospitalization day treatment, the client could then transition into regular outpatient treatment.
When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment program, they commonly take part in services anywhere from 3-5 days per week. It is very much like an in-patient program in many significant ways, including the fact that clients will get access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can address the psychological, emotional, and physical issues they are trying to conquer. For at least 4-6 hours on the days that people attend partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will get one-on-one addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, get any required medical care and deal with any of the mental health problems that trigger their drug addiction.
