Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health benefits for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals that do have Medicare and need substance abuse rehab in Pompey, this program may cover certain rehab programs and treatment services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain types of medical care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the expenses for outpatient substance abuse treatment. This includes outpatient care, therapy, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety and medications administered by clinics. It also covers professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want additional health insurance aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
