SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers - West Brentwood, NY.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in West Brentwood are programs which are legally allowed to dispense the drugs used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary benefits in addition to medicine like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab program can get their initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab center is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the type of accreditation that was granted.
