An opioid treatment center can get their initial approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab program is certified, they need to get re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the kind of accreditation it has been given.
