Naltrexone is an additional drug used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned it's an opiate blocker and is not an opioid. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents an individual from feeling high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 monthly.
