The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can pick a primary doctor and get referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.
Through TRICARE, members of the military can acquire substance abuse treatment services in Guthrie. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various rehab services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both inpatient and outpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are restricted to no more than 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detoxification will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved treatment center, and there are time limits as to how long military members are permitted to stay in treatment.
