Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health benefits for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people that do have Medicare and need addiction recovery services in Phoenix, Medicare will pay for various rehab programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different types of care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the individual's lifetime.

It also pays for professional interventions.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for clients who want supplemental coverage apart from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. Individuals who have Part C can have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
