Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - Portland, OR.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can select a primary doctor and get referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.

Through TRICARE, military members can receive substance abuse rehabilitation services in Portland. This encompasses detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various recovery services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some limitations. Military insurance covers both inpatient and outpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are restricted to 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detox will only be authorized if it is an approved facility, and there are time limits as to how long military members are allowed to stay in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is usually permitted. In additional to this, there are 60 group therapy sessions and 15 family therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which take place on an outpatient basis.
