The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can select a primary care physician and obtain referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.
Through TRICARE, members of the military can acquire drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Centre Hall. This encompasses individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other various rehab services.
