A person taking this formulation, AKA Suboxone, would find it more difficult to get high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It too is taken daily, and costs around $450 /month. Naltrexone is another medication used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications aforementioned it is an opioid blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from feeling high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 a month.
