The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can select a primary care physician and get referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.
Through TRICARE, military members can receive drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Darby. This encompasses individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other various substance abuse recovery services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some restrictions.
