The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers insurance benefits for retired military who are 60 years of age or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary doctor and obtain referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.
By way of TRICARE, members of the military can receive substance abuse rehabilitation services in Downingtown. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various rehabilitation services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance pays for both inpatient and outpatient, but inpatient services for detox are limited to no more than 7 days.
