Outpatient Methadone Buprenorphine or Vivitrol - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - La Jose, PA.

One of the out-patient rehab alternatives for people in La Jose struggling with opioid dependence and addiction is opioid maintenance therapy. Some centers and doctors are certified to dispense specific medications to opioid addicted clients, many of which are opioids also and are addiction. With low amounts however, the client does not experience being high but also does not have intense cravings and isn't in opioid withdrawal. Methadone is the first drug used for this purpose, but there are alternative options currently to select from.

Methadone is an opioid and can be taken at an outpatient clinic certified to administer the med, that is taken on a daily basis in liquid or pill form. The price of the med is around $150 a month. Buprenorphine is also an opiate based drug, and is in pill form often taken every other day. But different from Methadone which is only be dispensed in structured clinics, Buprenorphine can be prescribed and administered in doctor's offices. The monthly cost of buprenorphine is approximately $300 monthly for the generic version of the med. There is also a version of buprenorphine that contains the ingredient naloxone, which is a drug that reverses the effects of opiates. Someone consuming this formulation, AKA Suboxone, would find it harder to feel high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It too is taken daily, and costs about $450 a month. Naltrexone is an additional medication taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it is an opiate blocker and is not an opioid. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from experience high feelings from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 monthly.
