Naltrexone is another drug used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned here it's an opioid blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents a person from experience high feelings from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse.
