Outpatient Methadone Buprenorphine or Vivitrol - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facilities - Paradise, PA.

One of the out-patient rehab options for people in Paradise battling with opioid abuse and addiction is opioid maintenance therapy. Some facilities and doctors are authorized to give specific medications to opioid dependent individuals, many of which are opioid-based themselves and are addictive. With low amounts however, the individual does not experience high feelings but also does not have acute cravings and isn't in opioid withdrawal. Methadone is the first medication administered for this reason, but there are other options to choose from.

Methadone is an opiate and is meant to be taken at an out-patient medical center certified to administer the med, which is taken on a daily basis as a pill or liquid. The cost of the drug is approximately one hundred and fifty dolloars a month. Buprenorphine is also an opioid based med, and is a pill often taken every other day. But unlike Methadone which can only be administered in highly well-regulated clinics, Buprenorphine can be and is prescribed and dispensed in doctor's offices. The monthly cost of buprenorphine is around just under $300 per month for the generic version of the drug. There is also a type of buprenorphine that contains the ingredient naloxone, that is a drug which blocks the effects of opiates. Someone consuming this version of the drug, AKA Suboxone, would find it harder to feel high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It is also taken every day, and is priced approximately $450 a month. Naltrexone is an additional med used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications aforementioned it is an opioid blocker and is not an opioid. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from feeling high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 monthly.
